Biography
Scott B. Chapman, Esq., is a Junior Partner in the Fort Myers office. Martindale-Hubbell and his peers rated him AV® Preeminent™.
Scott serves as Co-Chair of the firm's Homeowners Association and Condo Association practice group, bringing over two decades of insurance defense litigation experience to a practice centered on bodily injury defense, general liability, premises liability, and complex first-party property matters. He has developed deep expertise in Florida's Condominium Act, regularly navigating water intrusion, mold, and multi-party disputes on behalf of insurers, property managers, and community associations throughout Florida. His command of the statutory and regulatory framework governing condominium and homeowner associations allows him to build effective defense strategies in matters that often involve overlapping coverage issues, competing claimants, and high-exposure property damage claims.
Scott also handles insurance subrogation matters arising from residential, commercial, and condominium losses, defending recovery actions on behalf of insurers and their insureds across a broad range of property damage scenarios. His subrogation practice complements his property defense work, giving him a comprehensive perspective on both sides of complex property loss litigation.
Scott received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and Economics from The Ohio State University (1987). He obtained his Juris Doctor from Cleveland Marshall College of Law (1991).
Scott is admitted in Ohio (1991) and Florida (1992), as well as the United States District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida.
