Biography

Andrea Cox, Esq., is the Managing Partner of the firm’s Tallahassee office and Co-Chair of the firm’s Product Liability Practice Group. Martindale-Hubbell and her peers have rated her AV® Preeminent™. Andrea has a state-wide practice with over 20 years of litigation and appellate experience in federal and state courts. She has also tried numerous cases in both state and federal court.  Andrea focuses her practice representing companies in the medical device, pharmaceutical, toxic tort and construction industries in civil litigation challenging the safety of their products. She also handles premises liability, employment discrimination, class action, insurance coverage, commercial litigation, liquor liability and automobile negligence cases involving catastrophic injuries and wrongful deaths. The high stakes in these complex cases sensitizes Andrea to the need to balance her legal advice with the clients’ business goals.

Prior to joining the firm, Andrea previously was a partner at an AmLaw 200 firm, handling automobile negligence, product liability, wrongful death, toxic tort and commercial litigation. She also worked for other Florida insurance defense firms where she handled numerous appellate matters and gained valuable experience arguing matters before the Florida Supreme Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.

Andrea earned a Bachelor of Science from Florida State University, graduating cum laude (1996). She obtained a Juris Doctor from the University of Florida, College of Law (1999).

Andrea is admitted in Florida (1999). She is admitted to the United States District Court for the Northern (2008), Middle (2008) and Southern (2008) Districts of Florida. Andrea is also admitted to the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit (2007).
