Biography

Mykoll Finikin-Roumain, Esq., is an Associate in the Fort Lauderdale office. She focuses her practice on insurance defense, representing individuals, corporate clients and insurance carriers in complex civil litigation. With five years of dedicated litigation experience, Mykoll brings a strategic, results-driven approach to risk management, liability assessment, and courtroom advocacy.

Throughout her career, Mykoll has successfully navigated all phases of the litigation process, from initial case evaluation and meticulous discovery to depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation. Her experience spans a diverse range of matters, including first-party liability claims, third-party liability, and general casualty. Known for her analytical precision and sharp defense strategies, she excels at identifying early resolution opportunities while maintaining the fierce trial readiness required to protect her clients. Prior to focusing on insurance defense, Mykoll built a strong foundation in general civil litigation, sharpening her skills in oral advocacy and legal writing.

Beyond her practice, Mykoll is a deeply invested leader in the legal community. She currently serves as the President of the Caribbean Bar Association (2025-2026), where she champions professional development, mentorship, and advocacy. Her dedication to legal excellence and ethics is further underscored by her background as a former member of the prestigious Craig S. Barnard American Inns of Court, an organization dedicated to fostering the highest levels of professionalism and courtroom civility.

Mykoll is a native of Jamaica and describes her legal journey as unconventional. She obtained a Bachelor of Law from the University of the West Indies in Jamaica (2018). Mykoll received a Master of Law, graduating summa cum laude from Florida State University College of Law (2019). Mykoll thereafter earned a Juris Doctor at Florida State University College of Law (2021).

Mykoll is admitted to practice in Florida (2021). Mykoll is also a member of the Craig S. Barnard American Inn of Court, the Caribbean Bar Association, and the Palm Beach County Bar Association.
