Biography
Allison I. Janowitz, Esq., is a Senior Partner in the Fort Lauderdale office and serves as Chair of the Premises Liability Group. She is also a member of the negligent security and complex injury teams. Allison concentrates her practice in general liability, premises liability, and negligent security matters. In addition, she handles automobile negligence and personal injury litigation cases. She has experience handling construction liability claims having represented clients in cases involving injuries and property damage resulting from mold exposure.
Allison has represented a wide variety of clients, including shopping malls and centers, retail stores, parking lot operators, commercial businesses, landlords, property owners, insurers, and construction companies in a broad range of complex litigation involving serious injury and wrongful death claims. She also works closely with in-house counsels to strategize case handling, settlements and trial strategies.
As Chair of the Firm’s Premises Liability Group, Allison defends major local and national property owners and lessees against all types of premises liability claims. She focuses particularly on matters involving malls, shopping centers, and retail businesses. Her clients include national and local hotel chains, restaurant groups, and retail establishments. Typical cases involve slip-and-fall accidents, criminal assaults, false arrest claims, wrongful death actions, pedestrian and vehicular accidents, product liability matters, and food poisoning claims. Allison also handles negligent security matters for these clients, including cases involving sexual assault and shootings.
Allison earned a Bachelor of Arts in Art History with a minor in Psychology from Washington University (2007). She obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Miami, cum laude, 2010. Allison is admitted in Florida (2010). She is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Southern (2010) and Middle (2022) Districts of Florida.
