Biography
Scott A. Hutchens, Esq., is a Junior Partner in the firm’s Tampa office with over 15 years of litigation experience. He has tried more than 15 cases to verdict. Scott's practice is focused on automobile negligence, trucking liability, premises liability, negligent security, and general liability matters. His diverse practice also encompasses commercial litigation, insurance coverage, workers' compensation, medical malpractice, roadway construction, PIP, and appellate matters.
Scott possesses significant expertise in defending cases involving controversial or unnecessary medical treatments and aggressively challenging excessive medical billing. He has successfully secured numerous favorable orders allowing the discovery and admissibility of medical providers' average realization rates on Letters of Protection (LOPs), evidence of factoring arrangements, and pricing differentials comparing LOP reimbursements against standard commercial health carrier and Medicare rates.
Scott received a Bachelor of Arts from Florida State University (2005). He obtained a Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern, Shepard Broad College of Law graduating, summa cum laude (2008). Throughout college and law school, Scott spent his summers clerking for his father’s law practice in Sarasota.
Scott is admitted in Florida (2008). He is also admitted in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida (2010).
