Biography

Michelle G. Ortiz, Esq., is a Junior Partner in the Miami office with over 20 years of litigation experience and in excess of 150 bench trials. She focuses her practice on complex litigation matters, including first-party property, general liability, insurance coverage and fraud investigations. She also handles automobile negligence, premises liability and cases alleging bad faith. Michelle is fluent in Spanish.

Throughout her career, Michelle has represented insurance carriers, corporate clients, and institutional entities with a strong focus on strategic case management and results-driven advocacy. She has extensive experience handling high-exposure claims and contested coverage matters. Michelle has dedicated a significant part of her career to representing victims of domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking in Family court under VAWA. She has been a guest speaker before judges and attorneys including having presented as a guest speaker discussing trial techniques.

Prior to joining the firm, he led one of the First Party Property and Casualty Units at a prominent Miami-based law firm, where she managed daily operations, supervised a team of attorneys and support staff, and advised on litigation strategies tailored to each client’s business and budgetary objectives. She also offers unique insight for clients operating across Latin America, the Caribbean, and U.S. jurisdictions, particularly in matters with the potential to escalate into federal litigation.

Michelle received a Bachelor of Arts from Florida International University (1999). She obtained a Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University (2004). Michelle is admitted in Florida (2004) and to the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida (2010).
