Biography
Michael A. Sobel, Esq., serves as Firm Administrator with more than 40 years of legal experience and a uniquely broad perspective to the firm’s operations and client service. Martindale-Hubbell and his peers have also rated him AV® Preeminent™. As Firm Administrator, Mr. Sobel applies his extensive legal knowledge, operational leadership, and risk-focused perspective to help ensure efficient firm management and exceptional service.
Michael has served in senior leadership positions, including Managing Partner, and brings extensive experience in both civil and criminal litigation. His practice has included bodily injury, medical malpractice, and construction defect matters. He also served for 14 years as General Counsel to a New Jersey construction company, advising on complex legal and operational issues. Throughout his career, Michael has participated in more than 100 jury trials and served as lead counsel in 33 capital homicide cases tried to verdict. Michael is licensed to practice law in Florida, Michigan, and Washington, D.C.
Michael’s public service experience includes serving as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in Oakland County, Michigan; a Magistrate for Michigan’s 46th District Court; an Administrative Traffic Magistrate in Broward County, Florida; and a City Commissioner in Pompano Beach.
Beyond his litigation practice, Michael has more than 20 years of experience advising and managing community associations. He served as legal counsel and a licensed Community Association Manager for a 2,350-unit South Florida timeshare property. He has also held leadership roles on multiple condominium boards, overseeing major construction and renovation projects. Michael co-published The New Pelican, a weekly newspaper serving several South Florida communities.
Michael has served as an adjunct professor at the Arizona College of Nursing, where he received recognition as a Peak Performer and earned the Nightingale Award for excellence in instruction. He earned a Bachelor of Arts with High Distinction from the University of Michigan and a Juris Doctor from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School. During law school, he clerked for the Michigan Attorney General’s Office.
