Biography

David J. Pascuzzi, Esq., is a Junior Partner in the Boca Raton office and co-chair of the Insurance Coverage and First-Party Property practice groups. He brings more than 29 years of experience in civil litigation and appellate matters, with a focus on first-party property insurance coverage disputes. David's work includes complex claims involving subsidence and sinkholes, cast iron pipe failures, and hurricane losses.

In addition to first-party matters, David handles third-party coverage and liability defense cases, including sexual misconduct liability, institutional liability for churches, schools, and universities, and employment-related claims such as discrimination and retaliation. He is fluent in Spanish.

Before joining the firm, David served as general counsel for an international biopharmaceutical company based in Boca Raton. His prior experience also includes defending pharmacy liability claims involving overdoses and compounding-related blindness cases, as well as commercial litigation matters such as unfair trade practices, theft of customer lists, secondary mortgage market disputes, and construction defects. Notably, David recently prevailed before the Supreme Court of Florida in a case limiting exceptions to Florida’s statute of limitations.

David received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Vermont, graduating cum laude (1993), double majoring in History and Political Science with a minor in Spanish. While at the University of Vermont, David was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and was named a member of the Boulder Society. He was twice listed as a National Hispanic Scholar while in college. Also during his college years, David was a staffer to Vermont Congressman, Bernard Sanders, (now U.S. Senator). David obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Florida, College of Law, graduating with honors (1996). In law school David served as senior research editor for the Florida Journal of International Law where his article on an analysis of Colombian and foreign investment laws was published.

David is admitted in Florida (1996). He is also admitted to the United States District Courts for the Southern (1997), Middle (1997) and Northern (1997) Districts of Florida, the United States Circuits Court for the Eleventh (1998) and Fourth (1998) Circuits and the United States Supreme Court (1999). He is an emeritus member of the West Palm Beach, Craig S. Barnard American Inn of Court.
