BOCA RATON, FL. - Daniel Santaniello, Managing Partner at Luks, Santaniello, Petrillo & Jones is one of four trial attorneys from across the country competing against each other in Magna Legal Services’ version of the television show “Chopped.” These trial litigators will battle each other in a mock trial setting to present their best case to a panel of judges. After each phase of the trial, the judges will vote to ‘CHOP’ one lawyer from the competition, leaving one ultimate champion at the end. The audience and a panel of judges made up of claims executives and in-house counsel will provide real-time feedback on the effectiveness of the presentations via Magna’s handheld audience response system. As part of the event, $5,000.00 will be donated to CHOP (The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia). The attorneys will compete for a portion of that amount to be donated in their respective law firm’s name.
With more than 20 years of trial litigation experience, Dan Santaniello will take part in Magna Legal Services’ day-long CLE program. Dan is a Founding Partner of Luks, Santaniello, Petrillo & Jones. He is an expert in Civil Trial and Board Certified by The Florida Bar. He is also President of the Florida Defense Lawyers Association (FDLA).
The program will be moderated by Richard Fabian, Senior Vice President & General Counsel, Director of Litigation at The RiverStone Companies. Competing attorneys include Ted Schaer of Zarwin, Baum, DeVito, Kaplan, Schaer & Toddy PC, Scott Masterson of Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith and Francis Morrison with Axinn, Veltrop & Harkrider LLP.
“Chopped is an innovative approach to fundraising that will benefit children. It will be a rewarding experience, and I am looking forward to competing and going up against seasoned litigators for such a worthwhile cause,” Daniel Santaniello, Managing Partner of Luks, Santaniello, Petrillo & Jones, said.
“We are excited to provide a unique setting for some friendly competition, and to do it all to help benefit such an amazing charity,” Peter Hecht, Magna’s Executive Vice President of Business Development, said. “No legal conference has ever offered this sort of experience to its attendees, and I know those involved are excited to see these attorneys get into the competitive spirit to win the chance to donate to this organization. So many of those attending, myself included, have firsthand experience with the incredible work CHOP does for children across the United States.”
The event is part of the Magna Legal Services Annual Conference that will be held November 6-7, 2013 at Revel Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, NJ.
