BOCA RATON, FL. - Luks, Santaniello has launched its new Examination Under Oath (EUO) scheduling website, PIPEUO.com. The new site allows clients to request an EUO and share and exchange claims information with the firm’s attorneys. Through an account on the site, clients may request multiple concurrent EUOs, track their EUO request letter, view their EUO calendar, view the assigned attorney, request a specific attorney to handle their matter and send special instructions regarding an EUO to the assigned attorney. Clients may also modify existing EUO requests and upload original or additional file documentation for their EUO(s) using file transfer that is HIPAA compliant. Users may track multiple assignments and have proof of mailings and summarization of all activity right from their account. Clients of the firm may have an account on the site complimentary.
In 2012, Florida enacted changes to the Motor Vehicle No-Fault Law that became effective January 1, 2013. As of this date, attendance at an EUO is mandatory in order for an insured or omnibus claimant to receive PIP benefits. Specifically Florida Statute §627.736(6)(g) as amended now requires insureds and omnibus claimants to submit to an examination under oath if the policy includes such terms. Most significantly, compliance with this new subsection is a condition precedent to receiving benefits.
Given the changes to The Florida Motor Vehicle No-Fault Law, PIP Attorney Andrew Chiera of the Boca Raton office and Managing Partner Dan Santaniello anticipated its clients may be inundated with EUO requests. Chiera and Santaniello wanted to streamline the claims management process for its clients. The new site achieves efficiencies allowing the sharing and exchanging of claims information consolidated all in one place.
