Biography
Katelin L. Stephens, Esq., is an Associate in the Fort Lauderdale East office. She focuses her practice on first party property, insurance coverage matters, general liability, as well as contractual matters. Katelin is proficient in Spanish.
Prior to joining the firm, Katelin worked as an in-house contracts specialist for an international talent booking agency. There she handled transactional matters pertaining to reviewing, drafting, and negotiating agreements for various talent obligations including live performances, speaking engagements, influencer agreements, and brand endorsement deals. She also handled pre-litigation contractual dispute resolution for the agency.
Before her agency work, Katelin represented insurers in first party property cases involving wind claims and water leaks as well as affirmative fraud investigations and litigations to protect the insurance company and its insureds from excessive claim costs generated by notorious unreasonable and excessive billing practices.
Katelin earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College (2016). She obtained her Juris Doctor and LL.M. from the University of Miami School of Law (2020). During law school, Katelin served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Laurel Isicoff, Chief Judge of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Florida. She was also an active member of the law school community, serving as President of the Black Law Students Association and a Senator in the Student Bar Association.
Katelin is admitted in Florida (2020).
