The Trucking Liability practice group defends a broad range of clients throughout the transportation industry including national and regional trucking companies as well as local, national and international self-insured owner/operators and carriers. We handle all types of accidents, including catastrophic, wrongful death and environmental or property damage claims to verdict. We can handle claims from inception to completion, but also provide other services such as assisting in compliance with preservation requests, providing a second opinion on possible regulatory issues, and providing trainings to industry professionals so that our Clients can ensure compliance within their own companies.

Our team is adept in the interstate Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, as well as how state law applies those regulations to intrastate scenarios. All our trucking cases include a deep dive into the pertinent trucking regulations, in order to ensure that the FMCSA regulations have been complied with, or, to make our clients aware, early on, of any potential regulatory issues, so that the defense and strategy of each case can be tailored to the needs of each case.  The Trucking Liability practice group is also adept in the variety of coverage and apportionment issues that arise in these complex claims. This allows us to counsel our clients so that they understand the full picture of a claim, ranging from preservation to trial.

The practice group also has a dedicated Rapid Response team. The members of the Rapid Response team are available 24 hour per day to report to accident scenes and are trained to counsel drivers at the scene and coordinate onsite preservation of evidence, so that points of impact, speeds, Delta V, braking, lighting and event data recorder information on all vehicles involved in the incident are preserved. Key team members are active members of TIDA (Trucking Insurance Defense Association).
